Eric Bobrow, ArchiCAD GuruThe ArchiCAD Coaching Program is a web-based learning community led by Eric Bobrow, internationally recognized authority on the software.

You may email Eric your ArchiCAD-related questions any time you need help. For short questions, Eric responds via email with quick answers and pointers to online resources that will help you move forward.

Longer or more involved questions are addressed during one of the three interactive 90 minute webinars offered each month. Eric takes these questions and creatively weaves answers that apply Best Practices principles to each challenge. No question is too simple or too advanced – all are welcome.

Questions may be sent in via email along with screen captures or other images illustrating the context. Actual project files may be submitted if needed to give context and clarify the question.

During the coaching call, follow-up questions and additional topics are easily asked using the GoToWebinar chat panel.

“Great Questions –
Best 90 minutes of training I have ever had.”

Inaugurated in January 2011 as part of the Best Practices Course, the coaching program has addressed literally hundreds of questions in depth. As of June 2013, some 80 sessions have been recorded and posted in the Best Practices Course member area, creating a library of over 140 hours of carefully indexed high quality training material.

A searchable index makes it easy to locate individual topics (e.g. cleaning up roofs, importing a PDF survey as an underlay for a site plan, creating new materials for rendering, etc., etc.) in this vast resource library.

Simply type in a keyword such as “roof” or “material”, and you’ll find references to recorded calls in which these topics came up. Read the short summary of the original question and Eric’s answers and demonstrations to see if it’s likely this will help you in your research, then use the time-stamp to jump to the exact place in the video to watch.

The ArchiCAD Coaching Program is available for any ArchiCAD user who wants to get expert help on virtually any aspect of using the program.

“Great coaching session today.  The part where you clearly explained and showed how to model walls and floors so the cut sections and elevations render properly was fantastic.  This solves a lot of my problems and questions.

The tip about how to drag something to a certain distance from (or past) a point or object is very, very helpful.  The next day after the coaching session I used it all day to layout four options for a floor plan and it saved me a bunch of time.  And that’s just in one day.

I never expected this much improvement for the Best Practices Course and the Coaching Calls. This will help me to use ArchiCAD the way it is supposed to be used.”
